Online Medix employs a structured process for handling patient inquiries about treatment options by health-care providers. This process ensures that treatments are offered to suitable patients in a quick manner, while maintaining a high standard of care.
Following are the principal steps of the process from a patient perspective:
- Online Medix establishes web assets and presence, which let patients be informed of available treatment options.
- Patients decide to inquire about a medical treatment offered by a health-care provider (HCP), for which Online Medix manages patient inquiries.
- Patient inquiry is logged in Online Medix patient care system and the inquiry is sent to the HCP.
- Patient information, which was provided in the inquiry, is evaluated by the HCP's coordination team to determine initial suitability for treatment.
- The patient is contacted and updated by the HCP's coordinators by means of an email or a phone call.
- Patients suitable for the treatment are asked to provide more detailed information for evaluation by the HCP's medical team.
- The HCP's medical team decides about patient acceptance for treatment.
- The patient is updated of the decision, and the treatment terms are coordinated by the HCP's coordination team.
- The patient arrives to the HCP's treatment facility and a final medical evaluation and treatment decision is made by the HCP's medical team.
- The patient is treated according to the treatment terms and the updated medical evaluation.
- Patients, which are found not suitable for treatment at any of the steps above, are notified and given an opportunity to receive information about other treatment options, if such are available.
